I don’t care if you journal or not. Do it. Humble yourself, get over yourself and your own wants and desires and write down praises to God and the miracles He has done in your life. You WILL forget those things and then bad things will happen. Buy a notebook for 50 cents and a pen (or open a new word document) and start writing your thanksgivings to the Lord, your praises, your prayer requests, your thoughts, your questions, your dreams, your ideas, your God winks, EVERYTHING.
The reason why I’m so persistent with this is because of what it says in Psalm 77 and 78. It tells us that we NEED to remember and write these things down. That way we DON´T FORGET and that we will bring glory to God by all the OTHER people that will read it! WOW! So legit!!
Psalm 78
1 My people, hear my teaching;
listen to the words of my mouth.
2 I will open my mouth with a parable;
I will utter hidden things, things from of old—
3 things we have heard and known,
things our ancestors have told us.
4 We will not hide them from their descendants;
we will tell the next generation
the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD,
his power, and the wonders he has done.
5 He decreed statutes for Jacob
and established the law in Israel,
which he commanded our ancestors
to teach their children,
6 so the next generation would know them,
even the children yet to be born,
and they in turn would tell their children.
7 Then they would put their trust in God
and would not forget his deeds
but would keep his commands.

You might say, “Oh, but that is a lot of time...and even if I did, I would write too much or I wouldn’t know what to write.” Hmmm...have you ever written a note to your girl friend or boyfriend or spouse or friend? Have you ever THOUGHT of writing a note to someone? Did you write papers in SCHOOL?? Have you ever written on someone’s facebook wall? Haha well, now it’s time to write to our Savior. He loves us unconditionally, 100%, more than ANYONE could love us. (yes even more than your friend or spouse.) He SAVED US FROM ETERNAL PUNISHMENT. Like...legit. so sit down...and write something to Him. I’m going to challenge you to write every day. And for those of you writing every day, I’m going to challenge you to write multiple times a day. And if you are writing in it multiple times a day, that is legit. God loves every word, He cries and gets all emotional when you write to Him and LOVES, LOVES, LOVESSSS
everything you write to Him.
Like legit, when you hear of the “Spiritual Disciplines” everyone always says to pray, read the Bible, and worship. Well guess what: I HATE READING. Well guess what: I READ THE BIBLE ALL THE TIME. So those of you who hate writing, get over yourself and do it. God DEMANDS it. Phillipians 4:6 – prayer and petition (other versions use supplication, which means petition). Revelation 1:19 says to WRITE!
It doesn’t have to be a lot, I mean look at look at Psalm 117. That is super short, but it is SO POWERFUL!
You are legitly writing a history book about your love with Christ. It’s proof. Evidence. Like, legit HISTORY BOOK!
